Part two of our trip to Sweden July 14th-26th 2002..
Hjarnosand, Stockholm and Toreboda.....


Hjarnosand
after spending a day and a night in Ostersund , we took the train to Sundsvall and a bus to Hjarnosand where there was a science museum for kids. Here is Karen dressed in a surgical gown performing an operation .
Mirrors .
This was also at the museum in Hjarnosand.
The Beach
Hjarnosand is quite rural and although there was a beach, you could only get to it by car. This was a piece of sandy beach,from which people couls sea bathe or launch boats.Here is the family relaxing!.
Goteborg
The city where we began our trip.
Wading .
The water was not deep but Karen didnt like the stones .This is Andrew and me wading.. .
Stockholm .
On Saturday morning after our trip to the beach , we went swimming which Karen enjoyed even though the pool water was cool and she hurt her nose going down the long slide.We then took the train to Stockholm. First thing on Sunday morning we visited the wonderful Vasa Ship Museum. After seeing the vasa we visited two boats moored ogg Djurshom Island in Stockholm.This is Karen at the wheel of a weather ship.
The Palace.
On Monday morning we visited the Palace and saw the changing of the guard
The Toy Museum .
Tuesday morning was wet so we went to a Toy Museum.After we had seen everything from Victorian pianolas to Barbie dolls, Karen and Andrew played a few games of chess. .
Bowling .
The sun brightened up after the toy museum, but we had promised Karen she could go bowling and we did. For the first few games she was second but eventually she came third.Gordon was first, Cathy second

Tuesday evening was beautifully clear and so we took a boat trip to the island of Waxholm !
